This year Odyssey Con partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank to help provide meals for hungry people in southern Wisconsin. With the help of our generous attendees, our charity auction and dontation tins were able to raise over $600 in case. Attendees also graciously donated over 70 lbs of food for needy families.
Second Harvest Food Bank helps to feed nearly 141,000 people annually – 43% of whom are children. That's 22,700 people receiving emergency assistance in any given week.
We need volunteers to help run Odyssey Con! We particularly need people willing to work in the consuite, at the registration table, and as gofers. Work for 6 or more hours and get a $20 rebate of your membership fee! Your registration packet will contain a sign-up sheet with more details (you can also download it here). We also encourage fans interested in throwing room parties or holding other events to contact us. If you are new to Odyssey Con, it's a great way to meet people and get oriented.
This year we are donating 2 memberships to Con or Bust, which helps fans of color (non-white fans) attend science fiction and fantasy (SFF) conventions of their own choice (It's not just WisCon anymore!).
Con or Bust is administered by the Carl Brandon Society, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to increase racial and ethnic diversity in the production of and audience for speculative fiction.
For updates and other details, gaze upon the sidebar to your left for the relevant links or go to our About Us page. But please be patient: while most of them have been updated, the rest (like the Art Show)are still mired in the Odyssey Con 2011 time continuum. As we improve our mastery of temporal mechanics, these will also be updated. Thank you!
